LED lighting for Trimontium Museum Extension, Melrose

The Trimontium Museum is a Grade 2 Listed Building located in Melrose. It has undergone refurbishment, including a new extension to the rear of the main building.

The extension comprises a double-height exhibition and learning space with an integrated mezzanine level accommodating an office space below and an exhibition area above.

Lighting plays a central role in defining the character and functionality of the new spaces.

The exhibition area are illuminated by two continuous runs of recessed LED tape profiles providing homogenous general lighting that evenly washes the space without visual interruption. This is completed by two suspended track systems with adjustable LED spotlights providing flexible accent lighting to highlight exhibits and create visual focus where required.

In the lower office space lighting has been carefully controlled through the use of low- glare recessed LED downlights, ensuring a comfortable and evenly lit working environment.
